At Nature Nurture Sussex we are passionate about offering families the opportunity to spend quality time together in nature! In the woods you can run around, make noise, make a mess, get muddy, build dens, climb trees and just burn off some energy. There is also time to relax in a hammock, snuggle around the fire or try your hand at some seasonal crafts.

Our sessions usually include a woodland trail, seasonal crafts, mud kitchen. hammocks, slacklines, den building, fire lighting and, of course, hot chocolate and marshmallows!

We are now offering dedicated Family Forest School sessions for children with neurological conditions and additional needs and their families. As the Forest School approach is usually very suited to these children the difference between these and our other family sessions is subtle. Group numbers are slightly smaller, and we don’t gather the children together at the start of the session for introductions as we do our other groups. Rather we welcome each family individual and answer any questions. Usually by the end of the session all the children are comfortable enough to gather together around the fire. The marshmallows and hot chocolate on offer usually help too! Prior to the session you will receive an email outlining what to expect from the session and sharing pictures of the activities. Parents find this useful when they are preparing their child. It is also a great opportunity for parents to meet other families dealing with similar challenges in a relaxed environment.
