'Little Critters' is our group for toddlers and pre-schoolers and their parents and carers. At Little Critters, you can meet like minded people and join your little ones in getting hands on with nature. At each session we like to have activities around a favourite story or theme. This will be linked to a wider natural theme and what we might find in the woods now. We want to ignite a love and respect for nature in our species’ own Little Critters, creating a sense of wonder and fun as they build their confidence and sense of adventure in the great outdoors.
The children love to get cooking in the mud kitchen, making something wild and wonderful with clay, sticks and wool or go for a walk. We plan our sessions with early years development in mind by including activities to stimulate the senses, enhance gross and fine motor development and inspire the imagination. We believe that facilitating lots of self directed learning and play in the woods helps children (and parents) to develop good self esteem and by doing it together families can create wonderful nurturing memories for many years to come.
During the Autumn term of 2018, these sessions have been run by Nature Nurture Sussex weekly on a Wednesday morning from our East Grinstead site. However, in 2019, our Little Critters group will be moving from this site. Instead, Suzanne’s exciting new venture, Treehoppers, in East Grinstead will be running a weekly group for toddlers and pre-schoolers and their families. Suzanne is a founding Director of Nature Nurture Sussex and she and the Treehoppers team are very experienced at creating wonderful fun activities for families to enjoy together. Contact Treehoppers directly via our ‘Links’ page to find out more.
Our Little Critters group will continue but from a different woodland site in Mid Sussex and potentially less frequently, depending on the demand. This is still being fleshed out so watch this space! As soon as we have more information, details will go on our Booking Page:
